About Aloxy

Aloxy (www.aloxy.io) is a young Belgium tech company that builds an Industrial IoT platform for the energy and chemical industry going from sensors, wireless communication and gateways to a cloud platform and integration with customer systems. Our vision is to make all industrial operations safer, more efficient, and sustainable, by unlocking data from unconnected assets leveraging digital technologies such as Internet of Things and data analytics. Aloxy is a spin-off of imec and Universiteit Antwerpen.

Position overview

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Location: Antwerp, Belgium  

The role

As a product owner, you will be responsible for translating customer requirements to concrete features to guide the development roadmap. You will be the gatekeeper for various Aloxy products and work closely with the development team, the sales team, and our customers. You will work on the full product portfolio: sensors, IIoT platform, web application, smartphone app, edge gateway.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Guide the development roadmap by interacting with customers, the sales and customer success team, and the development team to create common understanding of the evolution of the Aloxy products.

• Distill the most valuable features that contribute to increased usage based on discussions with customers and the team and draft clear functional descriptions, mock-ups and UX to hand over to the development team.
• Responsible for an attractive and consistent UI / UX for our products.
• Cooperate closely with the development team, by guiding the implementation and validating the functionality and UI/UX.
• Guiding user onboarding together with customer success and marketing, to ensure that customers start using the new features.
• Build concise “business cases” for each feature.

• Support in prioritizing new product developments and technical improvements.

What we are looking for

• Interest, comfort, and strength working in a dynamic “scale-up” environment, where you don’t hesitate to tackle various challenges.
• A fast learner able to gain in-depth knowledge about our products, customer personas and use cases

• A creative, analytical mind with proven ability to distil the important from the nice-to-have.
• Strong feeling for UX and digital technology in general.
• As first employee in this role we are looking for a confident and independent candidate who is up to the challenge to fill this gap.
• A business-thinker with notions of cost – benefit analysis and the ability to build business cases to convince internal stakeholders.
• A relationship builder confident to discuss technical and business matters with high-demanding customers.

• Excellent written and oral communication in English, other languages are a plus;
